11+ Calderdale
The two grammar schools in Calderdale operate a joint registration and admissions process at 11 plus. There are 180 places for entry into Year 7 in each of the schools. For entry into Year 7 from 2026 the schools will be moving to a new exam provider, Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE). The changes to the admissions test are intended to widen opportunities for academically able disadvantaged children to gain a place at either school. The main change is to align the test to the Key Stage 2 curriculum, removing the Non-verbal Reasoning (NVR) element and introducing a creative writing element. The English and Maths papers will be age-standardised.
